Weekly Update. January 2nd, 2021.

 

HAPPY NEW YEAR.

At the time of this blog, the Arizona Department of Health Services said that the number of confirmed cases in Arizona was 539,150 with 9,061 deaths. This is approximately a 9.4% and a 7.6% increase over the previous week.

The Fatality Rate, the number of deaths as a percentage of confirmed cases, is unchanged at 1.7%. For those up to 54 years of age the Fatality Rate is unchanged at 0.3% and for those 55 and over it is slightly lower at 6.0%.

The number of cases is 7.41% of Arizona’s population, and deaths are 0.12% of the population.

Maricopa County accounts for 331,233 of confirmed cases and 5,239 of deaths. This is approximately 61% and 58% of the Arizona numbers, respectively. The figures for Yavapai County are 11,678 and 221, and for Coconino County are 11,437 and 214, respectively.

In Arizona, there have been a total of 3,296,944 tests performed, which is approximately 45.3% of the population, not accounting for people who have had multiple tests. An increasing 12.5% of those tests have shown positive. Of the tests, approximately 88% have been Diagnostic Tests (do you currently have the virus), and 12% have been Serology Tests (do you have the antibodies).

As of December 24th,
Yavapai County Community Health Services said the number of people tested in Yavapai County was 82,223 with 70,637 testing negative, a slight reduction to 85.9%. The number of tests is approximately 36.1% of the County’s population. The 214 deaths consists of 89 females and 125 males, which is slightly higher at about 0.09% of the County’s population. The Fatality Rate is also slightly higher at about 1.85%.

Over the week there were 3 new Listings with 3 coming Back on Market, (total 6). There were 9 Closings, and 9 Pending Sales (total 18). Taking Pending and Closed away from New Listings gives a reduction of inventory by another 12 units.

Contract Ratio:  The Contract Ratio is 133.30. The average over the last year is 82.5.

The Average Price per Square Foot of homes that are Under Contract was $386.17 per square foot. The yearly moving average is $327.67 per square foot. For those homes that Closed Escrow this week, the yearly moving average was $304.47 per square foot.
